About Deepthought

Deepthought is maintained by Martin Murray, Brad Ellis and Nathan Gallaher. It is intended to be a free public service for educational use within the Mid-Michigan and connected areas. All non-commerical use is free, and many resources are donated.

Deepthought's main servers are located in Mt. Pleasant, MI, with supporting servers located in Rosebush, MI. The Science, Math and Technology Center at Central Michigan University was Deepthought's first home. Deepthought has since moved through the CMU Computer Science Department and on to Mears Group, Inc. in Rosebush, MI and a private residence in Mt. Pleasant, MI. We are greatly indebted to Darma Computers and Alex Murray for hardware donations. Thanks guys!

All of our servers are donated - most owned by Martin and some by Brad. If you're interested in where they're located and what they're doing, check out the Periodic Table of Deepthought Servers.

No public distribution of MP3's. No pornography. No illegal software distribution. Free speech is good, but let's be responsible. This policy will be enforced.

People are encouraged to experiment with programming, web design, anything and everything you wish to do. CGI execution is turned off by default so we can keep track of public scripts, but PHP is enabled for any webpage with a .php extension. Contact us if you need special privileges such as database access or cgi execution permission.
